Heddy’s Fabric

Since 10 years old, Heidi worked with her mother every day after school, weekends, and summers up until 17, then came around when her mother needed her. Heidi received a call one day, her mother was forgetting and losing things like bank statements. tHIS TIME HEIDI CAME around TO HELP BUT STAYed FOR GOOD. Heidi left the new york new york casino where she cocktailed to train with Brig and Margo. she wasnt prepared to take over but made it happen, taking care of her mother in the morning, running the shop in the day, and feeding her mother at night. MS. HEDDY passed in march of 2003 and for the next five years, Heidi paid her brother and 3 sisters monthly to buy out the shop.

Heidi is most proud of surving from the pandemic to tariffs. after the pandemic half of her vendors disappeared, and with rising tariffs, suplliers in other countries are also disappearing yet heddys fabric stands firm since opening in 1966. Ms heddy opened more than a shop. People feel happy when they’re inside, a safe place that welcomes everyone, giving us an opportunity to connect with others.
