The Novelty collection began as a promise to only use upcycled materials. i quit my job and didn’t have space to keep scraps I had been collecting for years. Ultimately this idea would improve my skill, so I convinced myself to accept the challenge. The Novelty collection was the most difficult idea I have committed to, out of the 100 unfinished ones. I didn’t have much of a choice, All I could think about was improving my craft and would use whatever I had. I worked backwards, binding fabric remnants to make one whole piece that became part of a bigger piece. I found some creations to be one of a kind because during the pandemic, fabric manufacturers overseas disappeared, some fabrics I have not found until this day, I always did love the idea of being rare. I found when you work to create visions rather than your own, your freedom slips away. The Novelty collection allows me to be free, to create ideas regardless of whether they’re trending or not, to release what I create during sleepless nights. as random as it gets, I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do.
